30 years since May, 1985.
What is your primary product or service?
Media planning, negotiations and placement in traditional media and digital media.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Since studying Coca Colas media strategy in marketing class at University of Alabama, I have been interested in the immediate gratification of advertising. Out of college, I worked in the motion picture industry at 20th Century Fox and Galaxy Film Exchange. Went on to work at PCA and became media director for $24 million budget in mass merchandiser stores including Kmart and Wal-Mart. Started Media Power in 1985 with partners Ron and Judy Kaufman, taking over full ownership in 2014. After all these years, I'm still amazed at how effective advertising can be for a business, large or small!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Media strategic planning and negotiations has been my entire career. I'm not a sales rep; I am a strategist. My in-depth experience crosses so many business industries: Retail, After-Auto, Utilities, Health & Cosmetics, Home Improvement, Banking. Most importantly, I keep up with media developing trends and am able to help clients (large and small) navigate through the changing media between traditional and digital media. I speak at client conferences to help educate retailers on how to develop effective marketing programs in their areas.
